Giving Mikeys TMNT a chance to win a DVD...

Hey everyone. I know I've not posted on here in a while, but I wanted to get the word out before we do our first drawing to give everyone a chance to win since it will be before the holidays....

I do a podcast called "The Good, The Bad & The Geeky" where me and (usually) two other guys sit and discuss tv/movie news, and review shows, occasionally doing a sketch or parody or two. (we even did a full TMNT-discussion based episode once....)

Point is, we want to make a better show, and with your help we'd like to give you something in return. We are doing a drawing this Sunday for a chance to get a pick of a spankin new DVD. You can keep it for yourself, or give it as a present for Christmas, which may be good since times are so tough due to the recession! :) We got some decent DVDs too, and you're prolly wondering what the catch is.

All we ask is you listen to an episode, then take and answer every question on our not too long survey, and this Sunday we will do a drawing. Whoever's name is drawn gets a chance to pick from one of the following DVDs below:

Hot Fuzz
Iron Man
Little Miss Sunshine
Uncle Buck

The great thing is, if you fill out a survey and don't win, your name stays in the hat as we will be doing another drawing after New Years and once every other month, and more dvds will be added into the pile. (Maybe a TMNT related one as well if my supplier can step it up!) And please remember, we want to make our show even better, so if you don't like something, let us know! :)

I understand if this needs to be taken down or moved to the forums, but I thought I'd give it a shot as I usually hate posting on here to 'whore my stuff' but in this, you guys have a chance to truly get something in return and Mikey, Tokka and the crew have been more than amazing in terms of introducing great friends (tho i've been lurking alot lately) and allowing me to help out a few years ago.

Icelandic rapper, raps about TMNT

Hey TokKA, I just liked to share with you this link because I thought that maybe some of TMNT Fans or maybe someone you know at Mirage (like Steve Murphy) might find this funny or amusing.

..Controversial Icelandic rapper Bent recently released the song "1, 2 & Jesus" which describes his fall to atheism. ..

But the first verse is very interesting to note, as it's all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

He raps about how he wanted the TMNT Action Figures, the T-Shirts (and he's wearing one in the video) as well as the popular Nintendo games from Konami.

He then says that he used to pray to Jesus and then Santa, but when neither gave him his wishes, he moved to atheism.

Wanted to share with you the video just to show you that TMNT are still making headline news in various places.

Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better "re-invention" (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT's, in a live action film--like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc...there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original "first" TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right--but no official word yet...will keep you posted. Rose:"In case it's not already obvious, a Press Kit gets constructed and released - to the press - as part of the marketing effort for a film. These days they're all done digitally, compiled onto DVDs. Back in 1990 it was a simple folder loaded with some 8x10 black and white photos and some photocopied production notes.

Instead of focusing on a deleted scene today, I thought I would give typing a break and scan the contents of the press kit for the original movie. After I did that, I ended up typing 20 pages of production notes, so I really didn't save myself from anything.

Below you'll find all of the photos included with the kit as well as an excerpt from the production notes. If you download the complete .zip file, you'll have more production notes to read. One of the reasons I went through with typing 20 pages of these things was that all of the information is really, really unique and interesting, and I'm not sure that there's anywhere else that you can read something similar to this. There are quotes from all of the major players who had a hand in making the movie, including the late and great Jim Henson.

It's really all quite fantastic and I think it will also give you extra appreciation for all of the hard work that people put into this movie to make it the classic it ended up being.

A classic that should receive proper DVD treatment! *ahem*"

Cyber Strike !

Cuz i'm a putz and cuz not allot of people have read the kick-ass Mike Dooney story Cyber Strike i went ahead and uploaded the TMNT contents and comic of the CBS Action Zone comic i posted from Rose's collection yesterday on my Retro Revelations post. It's a unique take on the old Cyber Suits that appeared in the Archie TMNT Adventures books and the classic Turtles show.
The story is actually pretty beautifully rendered by Dooney and Crew and allot of fun !!

"Here is the second deleted scene from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film that I am highlighting in support of the **TMNT Special Edition project. Warner Brothers isn't yet convinced that this is a good idea - But they ARE watching us! - so be sure to let them know personally that you want this Special Edition DVD!

This scene is also pretty well documented, and bits and pieces of it can be seen in the actual movie. I've scanned a few stickers, trading cards, and pics taken from a book and magazine from this part, but the lengthy bit from the script might be more interesting to you.

This scene comes immediately after April yells at Casey, "I wouldn't ask for your help if you were the last... "thing" on the face of the planet!" and Casey follows with, "Coming along 'nicely' ..." .. ..

TMNT: Back to the Sewer, Usagi & Gen Peeks !!

" Usagi had appeared in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' TV series in the '80s/'90s, beginning with an episode aptly titled "Usagi Yojimbo."

He has been making guest appearance in the current animated series, introduced in the 4-part Battle Nexus storyline. Leonardo visits Usagi's world in another story, and many of my secondary characters are introduced. Usagi and Gen the rhino bounty hunter even make it to New York in another episode. Needless to say, these stories are not part of my comic book continuity.

Usagi and Gen will be showing up in the coming season as well. Here are a couple of character designs " -- Stan Sakai

But so far I have seen the "locked picture" versions of the first three episodes (these are with all of the animation compete but no music or sound effects) and I am liking it. Rose::"This is the first entry in a series to highlight all of the deleted scenes from the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. While all of the deleted scenes from the movie are fairly well documented throughout books and comics, we still have yet to see any of these scenes in their entirety. This is a key reason why releasing a Special Edition DVD of this movie is a necessity!

While the movie ended with our heroes triumphant on the rooftop of a building, there was one final scene in the script. This scene had April and Danny in the office of a comic book publisher, trying to pitch the idea of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

con this year was fast, furious, and as usual insane.

Takin' COn- hardcore is just my style, for years it's also been my major source 'JOB SEEKING' ( you know how bad Snapper has wanted forever to get stuck out of this rut he's been in and it just is not ever easy. Bein' stuck in your terrible2z and and wanting so bad to make a difference in one's life and in the world are entirely different things. So much hard effort and a whirlwind schedule has made this short, &special little time exceptionally emotional, intense, memorable and hopefully worthwhile.

Let me catch up to things here as i am slowly recovering from a fast flight and a quick trip , get myself together, and gear up to help Mikey's celebrate the biggest TMNT Shellebration year ever !!

TMNT25.com, unveiled today at Comic-Con International, is the official destination for the Turtle’s 25^th Anniversary Shell-ebration in 2009. Fans will have the opportunity to register on the site to receive up-to-the-minute 25^th Anniversary information and locations for special events, as well as the chance to win rare collectibles and prizes and much more, via the downloadable Turtles widget.

In addition to the launch of the site at Comic-Con, show attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a pre-Shell-ebration Sweepstakes, which they can enter by collecting stamps on a specially crafted TMNT25 passport at several participating partner booths: (4Kids Entertainment/TC Digital Games LLC (Booth #3351), uclick LLC (Booth #1217), and National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) (Booth #4345). "Sorry to quash the rumor - and contrary to the statement placed on Playmates Toys' website here - a second CGI TMNT movie is not in the works from Mirage and Imagi. Why someone from Playmates would put up such an unconfirmed and misleading statement is beyond me.

UPDATE. Playmates will shortly be changing their posted statement to this:

Following the success of the TMNT theatrical release in 2007, Mirage Licensing is in negotiation with several companies about a new TMNT movie for release in 2010.

Now THAT is a rumor I can wholeheartedly confirm (although it's more likely to be early 2011). ;) " --Steve Murphy

"So reports came in last week that a new line of Playmates TMNT figures was released in the California area at Toys R Us, well I'm happy to announce one week later they've reached the East Coast here in Pittsburgh,PA.
Well Turtles themselves have arrived but the 2 bad guys a Mole Man & a winged Spider Creature where nowhere to be seen, trust me I looked all over the isle. It's such a shame because those where the 2 I'm interested in, but I must admit that some of these while simple movie figures with outfits sculpted over them are really cool especially Mikey for once which is shocking.

I must apologize for the bad photos they had been taken with my cell phone as I do not plan to buy these. I give this entire lineup of figures 6 Shells out of a possible 10 shells, because it's almost there in the coolness factor and with interesting and detailed bad guys but the turtles just aren't there yet. I'm still sticking to my thought that the new Mini-Mutant line is where it's at, if only they put that much care into the large line."

"Been a long strange week here at Mirage: loads of product approvals; tons of product samples (65 boxes from Playmates alone; haven't had a chance to open a single one yet); two partial days of movie sequel related meetings (no, nothing set in stone, nor anything that can be shared); and a big problem at Chinese customs (as follows).

As you may know from reading this and Peter Laird's blog, Pete agreed to sign and do a head sketch on 500 postcard-sized inserts for NECA's exclusive SDCC TMNT black and white 4-pack, said cards to be inserted into the packaging of each set. Apparently the cards are stuck at Chinese customs and unable to be inserted into the packages in time for SDCC, so NECA had to go through the process of getting another 500 cards printed and overnighted here to Mirage, where Pete obligingly took a break from playing with his new toy in order to sign and draw head sketches on them all. Now the cards are being overnighted back to NECA for insertion into the figure packs, but on US soil, not Chinese. Everything should now be all set for San Diego."

So since I finally completed my Archie collection, and I own practically every other TMNT comic in existence in one form or another, I figured I'd put my resources to good use and put together a comic guide with individual reviews for each issue.

What I hope to do that'll eventually set it apart from the guide at the official site is to have a hell of a lot of cross-referencing. That way, if you're wondering how one event connects to a previous or future one, or when a certain character appears again, it'll all be handilly located in the "Turtle Tips" section.

I figured I'd start with the Archie series, since I haven't read most of those issues, particularly after #25. What I also hope to accomplish is fit all the specials and minis in-between the issues of the main title where they belong, ordering a coherent timeline much in the vein of my Mirage Continuity Timeline. But that'll have to wait until I get to those issues.

I also intend to add scans of selected pages and panels later on to add some *oomph*, but that'll have to wait since scanning is time-consuming.

For now, I've completed the first TMNT Adventures Miniseries and the first 13 issues of the on-going.

"Beloved roleplaying game designer Erick Wujcik passed away Saturday evening, June 7, 2008. He died from complications related to pancreatic and liver cancer. Kathryn Kozora, his sweetheart of nearly 30 years, and other loved ones were at his side.

Erick was diagnosed with cancer in late November 2007, and was given 6-8 weeks to live. True to Erick's indomitable spirit and zest for life, he proved the doctors wrong by lasting more than six months. Most of that time was spent with friends and loved ones.

Erick Wujcik's accomplishments are many.

To the roleplaying game community, Erick is best known for his many RPG games and contributions to Palladium Books, including The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG, several TMNT sourcebooks, After the Bomb RPG and sourcebooks for it, Ninjas & Superspies, Mystic China, Rifts China One and Two, Revised RECON, Wolfen Empire and many others. He is also famous for Amber Diceless, the first truly "diceless" roleplaying game, published under Erick's own label, Phage Press. Erick also published Amberzine and founded Ambercon, a series of conventions celebrating gaming, friendship and the world of Amber, hosted at numerous locations around the world.

Erick Wujcik was also the founder, heart and soul of the Detroit Gaming Center, served as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Game Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2003-2008), and worked in the videogame industry for the last several years, including UbiSoft China and most recently, as Senior Game Design/Writer at Totally Games, Novato, California.

Erick Wujcik's greatest accomplishment, however, is his contagious joy for life and love of ideas and imagination that inspired people around the world. Whether they were one of his students at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, fellow game designers, or fans sitting in the audience at a convention or seminar listening to Erick speak, to those who had the pleasure of gaming with Erick (he loved to run games at conventions and everywhere he went), to those who knew him best, they couldn't help but to love him. Even the millions who only knew him through his published works or communicated with him online, considered him a friend.

Erick is survived by Kathyrn Kozora, Kate's granddaughter (his beloved Sara), mother Nora, sister Peggy, his Aunt Mary and Uncle Sam and Nancy, along with dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Erick's last months of life were the same as he had always lived, full of friendship, joy, grace and beauty. He went quietly into the night, like a snowflake falling gently from the heavens."

Mikeys' been on break .. & the Blog interface and FTP with the server went and decided to break as well. So every time i tried to update the news i just kept getting ERROR messages, and no updates were published.

With Mike out.. it's been insane trying to get the communication problem with the server fixed.

Tomorrow is the final episode of the apocalyptic "Ninja Tribunal" season. 4Kids will be running repeats from season one beginning on May 10, so this summer presents another chance to relive the 2K3 Turtles magic (with commercials included ;) one more time before season seven kicks in.
